Posted September 24, 2018 07:51:51The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality says it suspended a private water supplier in Idaho’s Yakima Valley for violating the state’s drinking-water regulation by allowing a customer to consume tap water from an outside source.

The Yakima Water Company was ordered to stop drinking water from a different water source and to provide a customer a voucher to drink from the Yakima River Valley Water Company.

Yakima Water CEO Steve Smith said the company will appeal the suspension.

He said the Yakimas’ water has never been tested and it is illegal to sell tap water.

The company has been a main supplier to Yakima for over 30 years.
