Appliances are the most valuable and most sensitive part of the move. These are general steps that reduce the risk, with a reminder that each device's manual is the first reference.

Air conditioners and water heaters

They are dismantled by a specialist technician and not moved while installed. We dismantle and install air conditioners, water heaters, chandeliers and screens and set them running at the new home. Tell us the type of device and their number so we send the right technician, and prepare the installation spot and the connections before we arrive.

The fridge and the washing machine

  • The fridge: empty it well before the move and let the ice melt, then dry and clean it. Move it upright as far as possible, give it time before running it at the new place, and check the manufacturer's manual for the right length of time.
  • The washing machine: drain the water from the hoses and the filter, secure the door and the cables with tape, and use the transport-locking screws if it came with them.
  • The water heater: disconnect it and empty the water from it before dismantling.

Screens and chandeliers

  • Screens: their original box is best, otherwise bubble wrap and thick cardboard, and they are moved upright.
  • Chandeliers: dismantled by a technician, and the glass pieces are wrapped one by one. Also read the guide to moving delicate pieces.

Before the move

  1. Photograph the appliance connections before dismantling to make reassembly easier.
  2. Keep the manuals and the small connection pieces in one bag.
  3. Tell us about any sensitive or old device so we add more protection.
